The winner from Limerick, who now has a ticket valued at €250,000, is advised to sign the back of his ticket and keep it in a safe place.

The spokesperson said: “The winner should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email Claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.”

Meanwhile, the National Lottery has confirmed that it has fully resolved the technical problem that affected a small number of players during the win big weekend.

Issues occurred when customers attempted to purchase tickets at retail stores with a game ticket and selected a combination of manual and quick pick panel selections.

In a statement, a spokesperson said: “The vast majority of our customers did not experience any difficulty purchasing their tickets and no customers were charged for selections that were not processed correctly.

“Once alerted to the issue, we immediately contacted our relevant IT service providers to restore full functionality to our systems, and can confirm that all temporarily affected endpoints are now fully operational.

“We apologize again for any inconvenience caused.”
