Iarnród Éireann starts hiring 150 employees

Iarnród Éireann is launching a series of recruitment rounds in the coming weeks that will see it hire an additional 150 employees.

The operator of the national rail network is looking to hire up to 80 train drivers starting today.

These roles will be located in various locations including Dublin, which will also cover DART services: Cork, Drogheda, Dundalk, Limerick, Galway, Mallow, Portlaoise, Sligo and Waterford.

Next Monday, the company will start a training campaign for 30 places in the trades of Assembler, Electrician and Mechanic of Heavy Vehicles.

Also on that day, at least 20 Station Operator positions in the Greater Dublin area will be advertised.

These positions, the company says, will focus on helping customers, as well as working on train operations in the city center and commuter stations.

Starting Wednesday of next week, 30 positions as Customer Service Officers on board will be advertised on the Iarnród Éireann network.

Those wishing to apply for trainee roles are asked to complete an online ‘preliminary questionnaire’ before applying.

“With the planned expansion of services as part of the National Development Plan, it is an exciting time to become part of a growing organization,” said Jim Meade, CEO of Iarnród Éireann.

“We are also seeing strong interest in careers at Iarnród Éireann from a range of backgrounds. We are a diverse and inclusive employer, and in particular encourage more women to apply for driver positions, and are encouraged by the growing interest of women in recent recruitment campaigns,” he added.
