Universal Pictures has released a second trailer for jurassic world domainthe sixth installment in the hit franchise, featuring cloned dinosaurs freely roaming the continent as humans face possible extinction.
As we have previously reported, the jurassic world The trilogy was always intended to be a complete story told in three films, as opposed to the stand-alone nature of the original trilogy. Director Colin Trevorrow, who co-wrote Domain‘s, I knew I wanted the third movie to focus on “open source” dinosaurs, so to speak, portraying a world where Wu isn’t the only scientist capable of cloning the beasts. But instead of scene after scene of dinosaurs terrorizing people and destroying cities, he wanted “a world where interaction between dinosaurs is unlikely but possible, the same way we watch out for bears or sharks.”
According to the official premise:
Domain takes place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar. Dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether humans will remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.
The first trailer dropped in February, and fans were thrilled to see Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant, Laura Dern’s Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Jeff Goldblum’s suave, black-clad Dr. Ian Malcolm featured alongside a jurassic world co-star Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. We haven’t seen Neill or Dern’s characters since 2001 Jurassic Park III. And they are major players in Domainnot just stars making short, fan-pleasing cameos.
Also come back for Domain: Daniella Pineda as dino veterinarian Zia Rodríguez; Judge Smith as Park Technician Franklin Webb; Isabella Sermon as Maisie; Omar Sy as Owen’s assistant Barry; and BD Wong as geneticist Dr. Henry Wu. New cast members include DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, Dichen Lachman, Scott Haze, and Campbell Scott. Scott plays rival CEO of Biosyn Genetics, Dr. Lewis Dodgson, previously played by Cameron Thor in the 1993 film.
That first trailer was filled with dramatic voiceovers and (of course) Ian Malcolm’s trademark dire predictions: “We’re racing toward the extinction of our species,” punctuated with scenes of dinosaurs co-existing with humans and contemporary flora and fauna. . This latest trailer has all of that and also gives us a better idea of the plot.
The second trailer opens much the same as the first, with Owen, Claire, and an older Maisie on their farm in winter. They discover that a female velociraptor named Blue has given birth, something Maisie insists should be impossible. (Has no one ever told you that nature, uh, finds a way? Seems like a big oversight.) Owen decides to protect the couple, but then the baby is kidnapped and Blue is not too happy. Owen assures the enraged raptor that he will bring the baby back.
There’s a thrilling chase scene through the city streets, with Owen on his motorcycle being chased by birds of prey, and there are several scenes of Jurassic creatures attacking from the air, land, and sea, even from under the ice of a frozen lake. And apparently, we will meet “the largest carnivore the world has ever seen,” according to Grant. Clearly, the team has a lot of work to do, but “if our world is going to survive, what matters is what we do now,” Ellie declares.
jurassic world domain it hits theaters on June 10, 2022. While this film concludes the trilogy, rest assured there will be more to come in this blockbuster franchise.
