We are now at the end of the first week of May and I don’t know about you, but around here it’s starting to feel like summer. The last two days have been hot, though my definition of hot is mid 70’s. What can I say? I run a bit hot.
In any case, we’ve had exactly one week, from Sunday to Saturday, of beautiful May days and beautiful May words, a couple of which have been a bit tricky.
Creator Josh Wardle’s viral word puzzle game may not be as popular as it once was, but there’s still a committed community of puzzle solvers who play it every day, including, of course, your humble storyteller.

This was an interesting word. It’s not the hardest, but definitely a bit tricky since means, medium It’s not a word that many people use that often. It’s not exactly archaic, but it’s close.
my first guess, super, I pretty much eliminated some common letters and two vowels for myself. I chose the elimination strategy for my second guess, cloud, and (according to Wordle Bot) reduced the possible options to two.
Of course, he had no way of knowing this at the time or he would have guessed a word that used both ‘S’ and ‘D’. Instead, I just thought of a word that had as many common letters as possible and that I hadn’t used yet. mint it just popped into my brain; I had no idea it was one of the remaining solutions available.
From here I was just filling in the blanks. She knew where the M and I went and had the other three letters in yellow. With a little rearrangement, means, medium became the obvious solution. voila done! Win win chicken for dinner!
